How do I order a portrait?
Before purchasing a portrait, you can email me through the Contact page or directly at [email protected]. Include information about size and style of portrait that interests you and several high quality photos of your pet. This will get the conversation started.
We will continue to work out the details regarding composition, photo choice and any special requests via email. Once everything is agreed, you can purchase the portrait on my website and then I will begin painting.
What is the turnaround time?
It will generally take 4-8 weeks from the time I start painting to the time of shipping, depending on how many commissions are ahead of yours. At busier times of the year the wait could be a bit longer.
If you have a time sensitive project, a good option is the "watercolor sketch", these can ship out more quickly than a very detailed painting.
How do I choose a photo?
I need good quality, clear photos to create the best portrait of your pet. Generally I work from one main photo but like to have 3-5 others as reference photos.
If you have a photo of your pet that is your favorite of all time then I can use it provided it has enough clear detail in the main features.
If you are unsure of which photo would make a great portrait I am more than happy to look through a batch of photos and make suggestions.
Are different sizes available?
I can accommodate larger or smaller sizes, just let me know what your needs are. The largest paper I work with is 18"x24".
Do you only offer a white background?
I prefer to keep the background white to keep a clean look to the portrait and to keep the focus on the pet. I can offer a solid or a detailed background if you like for an additional price that would depend on the level of detail involved.
How does my portrait ship?
All portraits are painted on high quality 140b. thick wet media paper. The paper does buckle a bit once it is painted on, but will frame beautifully without a problem. They ship flat in a well padded parcel box via USPS priority mail. Tracking information will be provided.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes I do! The rates for international shipping will be more expensive than the rates listed on the product pages. I can give you a quote for shipping to another country once you let me know the size and style that you are interested in.
Tracking information will not be provided for international shipping as it can be costly. If you would like to pay the extra fee that I would be charged at the time of shipping I can include tracking.
Do you guarantee your work?
I love my pets and I know you love yours. I am absolutely committed to sending you something that you love. I will send progress pictures along the way and will send a final photo of your portrait for your approval before shipping.
